Regulations
INTERNATIONAL CYCLING RACES – THESSALONIKI 2013
SPECIFIC REGULATIONS
Article 1
”VELOS” C.C- Bottecchia under the aegis of the Hellenic Cycling Federation and in cooperation with the Municipalities of Thessaloniki and Voio, organize 2nd International Circuit of Thessaloniki and Gran Fondo Thessaloniki-Siatista , at 21-22/9/2013.
Article 2
The races will be run under the UCI regulations, it concerns the Men - elite category and is open to continental, national, regional and club teams, approved by their National Federations. Teams must be formed of 5 riders and 2 attendants, international license holders.
Article 3
All the participants accept the present Regulation and take part to the Race by their own responsibility and the organizers have no responsibility of any eventual accident, loose or material damage of bicycles, clothes e.t.c.
Article 4
RACES SCHEDULE
21-09-13: MEN-ELITE
WORLD CAR-FREE DAY – CIRCUIT 45 km – Historic Centre of Thessaloniki (10 laps X 4,5 km)
16:00 Athletes’ Arrival at the starting line- Signatures
17:00 START White Tower of Thessaloniki
22-09-13 MEN-ELITE & OPEN cat.18+, 30+, 40+, 50+, Women
GRAN FONDO THESSALONIKI – SIATISTA, 175 km.
08:00 Arrival of the riders at the starting line-Signatures
09:00 START OF MEN ELITE CAT.-WHITE TOWER
09:15 START OF OPEN CAT. –WHITE TOWER THESSALONIKI
13.30-16:30 FINISH- CITY HALL OF SIATISTA
The Technical congress of the first day will be held at the “CITY HALL OF THESSALONIKI” on Saturday (21.09.13) noon at 12.00.
Second’s day Technical congress will be held at HOLIDAY INN HOTEL
( http://www.holidayinn.com/thessaloniki ) where will be the accommodation of the teams.
The presence of the representatives of the teams at the T.C is obligatory.
Article 5
- All the riders are obliged to sign to the starting list at least 30 min. before the departure.
- The helmet is obligatory
- The riders have to put on the numbers that will be distributed to them by the organization.
- The 3 first riders are obliged to appear to the podium for the official ceremony. In the opposite case will be imposed the appropriate fine according the rules.
Article 6
The team’s vehicles have two numbers (in front and behind) by drawing lots.
Article 7
Feeding is allowed from the team’s vehicle, according to the UCI regulations, after the first 50klm and before the last 20klm.
Article 8
The finish deadline for the second race (road endurance) is the time of the winner augmented by 20%.
Article 9
A cup will be awarded to the 1st rider of each day and a medal to the first 3 riders.
To the first 3 riders of Climbs General Classification, will be awarded medals.
Article 10:
MEN-ELITE CATEGORY
We ensure lodging and feeding from 20 September’s evening, until 22 September’s midday for all your team. (5+2)
OPEN CATEGORY
Participation fees: 20 €
For all the riders of OPEN Category will be offered a meal in SIATISTA.
There will be free transportation from Siatista to Thessaloniki after the race, to all the riders that will ask it for.

Article 13:
For anything not mentioned at the present Regulation (disciplinary measures, course modifications, e.t.c) responsible to decide is the Race Director, the Commissaires Panel and the Organizer of the Race. All the decisions must comply with U.C.I. Regulations.
